Of all the scores I've bought this year, this is probably the one I keep coming back to the most. For the most part it's a fairly dark blend of orchestra and electronics, but about halfway through the album seems to shift gears and become a bit more emotional with a few nice long tracks that have quickly become some of my favorite Naoki Sato compositions.
In many ways, I prefer this even to the original...while, in some respects, it's another Search For Spock-style retread, the recording is lusher and the performances more spirited.
