My point is it's hard to miss the promos. IM was forgotten as quickly as it came for me. It was irrelevant. You also never saw a trailer for The Judge, the movie he made last year with Robert Duvall? No, I didn't.

I'm sure there are more than a few at the board who take actual pride in ignorance of contemporary popular culture, for the sense it affords of superiority to the teeming unwashed masses, superior taste, etc. Perhaps there are even a few who feign ignorance of certain things specifically to cultivate this image. Beyond a certain point, though, it does seem less "elite" and more "guy living in a shack in the woods cut off from the rest of civilization for thirty years", though I suppose we may have a few members who legitimately live along those lines, too. It does seem peculiar that anyone in the English-speaking world with an Internet connection might genuinely have no idea who, say, Taylor Swift is, but stranger things do happen. It's funnier to think, though, of people outside the FSM community thinking about us - the idea that there are people here who are wholly unacquainted with certain pop stars, yet possess CD libraries numbering in the thousands, with far more music than the average person owns, might be utterly baffling.

And I'm sure there are people here who actually think it to be ignorance not to follow parts of large swaths of pop culture. For some reason they seem to think just because some thing is, means we have no know what ever chunk thereof and that if we don't, we're the ignorant ones. Yeah.

There's something definately wrong in the world if people know who Howard Stern is, but not Cristiano Ronaldo Definately is wrong enough.
