Floyd Mayweather

One Direction
James Patterson
Cristiano Ronaldo

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift I only know by name because it’s impossible not to hear their names on a daily basis along with the Kardashian's.

Oh come on solium! How could you have avoided the hype around that boxing fight in Vegas between Mayweather and Pacman couple months ago?

One Direction are the biggest pop group around these days!!

And Ronaldo is the world's most famous football player, with an ego to match.

I know the first two are boxers or fighters who were recently pitted against one another in some high-profile bout. I guess their millions come from that fight. One Direction is a popular pop music group. James Patterson, IIRC, is a bestselling crime novelist. I have no idea who Cristiano Ronaldo is either, though I'm sure ten seconds of Googling could clear that right up for you and me if either of us were truly interested in knowing.

Told you I was out of touch!

Seriously all I know about boxing are Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and Rocky. wink

I lost interest in Football a decade or two ago. I don't even know the names of the players on my local team anymore.

Not up on pop singers other than the few that are in the headlines every damn single day! ( Justin Beaver, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus) I couldn't to this day even tell you a Katy Perry song from a Taylor Swift song. Certainly don't know any of the pop groups.

I thought Garth Crooks was on there for a moment. Wondered how he'd managed to get on that list.

  • 1. Floyd Mayweather--$300 million
    Who?

  • 2. Manny Pacquiao--$160 million
    Who?

  • 3. Katy Perry--$135 million
Heard the name, still have no idea who it is. Also: don't care.

  • 4. One Direction--$130 million
No clue. sounds like a stupid name like Junkie XL.

  • 5. Howard Stern--$95 million
ONly because he's been around so long and was promoted on TV so much, do I know who he is. Never really listened to his show. I watched an episode or two where he had one one of my favorite comedians (Norm MacDonald).

  • 6. Garth Brooks--$90 million
Isn't he a country music singer?

  • 7. James Patterson--$89 million
    Who?

  • 8. Robert Downey Jr.--$80 million
He's an actor. I only recall hearing news stories in hte passed of naughty things he's done. Can't say I can name a movie he was in, though I'm sure I've seen some.

  • 9. Taylor Swift--$80 million
I only know her name because she's reportedly a nice person that does nice thigns for her fans, including looking up their addresses and sending them surprise packages with neat things. She's a singer as I recall.

  • 10. Cristiano Ronaldo--$79.5 million
Zero idea who this is. I can't even say if that's a man or woman.

Well, she speaks the lyrics. She doesn't really sing. She's a well compensated lyric speaker.

Which is typical of today's non- talent. They either speak it or scream it, then auto-tuned in post. Their marketing gimmicks not really talented vocalists.

No movie I can think of. Unless you actually think everybody not only saw but wanted to one or more of Iron Man films.

Yeah, but Robert Downey Jr. has been acting in so many films since the mid-80's and beyond that there was all the very public drama with his drug addiction and court appearances in the 90's. I think even being a soundtrack collector you'd own a few CDs which feature his name listed in the movie credits on the inlay card, right? At this point, Downey Jr. is one of the most well-recognized celebrities world-wide, right up there with Harrison Ford, Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise.

More and more with each passing year, Chaplin seems to be the film I like the best out of RDJ's films. I find myself quoting it a lot.

There's something definately wrong in the world if people know who Howard Stern is, but not Cristiano Ronaldo
