It’s with the heaviest of hearts and unbearable sadness that we must inform you of the passing of our dear friend and Yes co-founder, Chris Squire. Chris peacefully passed away last night in Phoenix Arizona. We will have more information for you soon.

Oh damn. He was an amazing player, with a distinctive style that inspired countless others. RIP
I've been doing a little more reading on him and I never knew that YES had not yet been inducted into the Jann Wenner Hall Of Shame--it just goes to show how little attention I pay to such twaddle. Anyway, to not be a part of such a dubious "honor" should, in itself, be a point of pride.
There are many times that I've wanted to get myself a Ricky, all thanks to what Squire (and, to some extent, early-era Geddy Lee) could do with it. But considering that I would never in a million years make it sing the way Squire did, I would humbly walk out of the guitar store empty-handed.
