Hi all,

You know, I think I've just made a fool of myself in front of billions by posting so much rubbish recently on the other side. So I'm posting this on THIS side, so that nobody will read it.

It's not easy being really thick - and a thick caveman to boot! Just to show you, I remember back in maybe '66 I was working as a studio hand in Lanzarote, and between takes Raquel Welch, in her gorgeous fur bikini, picked up a shell from the beach, turned to me lovingly, and said "Graham darling, if you put this to your ear you'll hear the sea. It's so romantic, just us two and the sound of the sea." So I put it to my ear and replied, "You're right, my sweetheart. I CAN hear the sea! Let's make love!"

And at that point she pointed out that we were actually on the beach, and the sound of the sea was coming in to my other ear from the real sea.

Don't worry, my friend - the people who matter will see it.

I assume, in all bluntness, you took along the right Hammer?

That was a very disctinctive score, on top of everything else.

Well when i was romping against the rock on the set of solomon and sheba with Gina, we discussed Raquel and her upcoming movie career.

Curiously, I was line manager on that project. I seem to recall that there was a young... peanut vendor (?)... or something working under my command. He had a curious name though which I'll never forget - Daniel Themanuel. I kept asking him where he was from, with a surname like that, but he continually evaded the question. Wonder what happened to him.

Graham ...

Are you sure she wasn't very obliquely accepting your offer, and you missed the signals?

If so, your reputation won't be worth a plugged nickel. Hell knows no fury like Raquel's scorn. Look at this:

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2012/02/13/raquel-welch-ben-hur-star-stephen-boyd-was-gay/

Nobody who knew him thought that, and he lived for years with a female partner, eventually married her.

She'll be gunning for you. I've already heard the rumours.

Oh William. That story SO rings a bell about her behaviour with me. Boyd turned her down because he was gay, and she PRETENDED (the slag) to turn me down, not realising that I was/am/is too thick to see it as a come on.

Did I tell you how I once helped on the Joan Baez 1970 tour, along with Viva Zapata's grandson?

Holy cow, I remember that tour!!
I was her bassist back then. On the particular day of the whole Gustavo thing I sent my bass tech out for a badly-needed new set of strings. The burk comes back with flat-wound instead of round-wound. So I stomp off to go get the right ones myself, royally pissed.
I get back just in time to see him and Joan "disengaging" themelves and sharing a smoke.
The whole thing was a deliberate ruse to get Joan alone.
I was too naive to see it coming.

Octoberman - Would you mind telling that story again on the "What the Heck is This Song all About?" thread? Zambra Alex or Alex Zambra or whatever he's called is doubting my word. He probably doesn't even believe I shared some shellfish with Ms Welch, on a beach, in 1966, just me and her. And Don Chaffey. And Stephen Boyd. In Lanzarote. With camels.

Righteo, Mr Watt. At the moment you've got me about as confused as lieutenant Schaffer and poor Alex. When you speak of camels, would that be one hump, or two, or the variety you light at one end and smoke from the other? smile

Grecchus, no humps at all I'm afraid. Just a glimpse of cameltoe, that's all.

And don't worry about being lost with all the nonsense spewed out here - you're probably above Neanderthal and thus too advanced to "get" it.

P.S. Grechy - See if you can crack the conundrum in the "What the Heck...?" lyrics thread.
