Independent U.S. distributors Severin Films have confirmed that they are planning to add three classic horror films to their Blu-ray catalog: Mario Caiano's Nightmare Castle (1965), Sergio Corbucci and Antonio Margheriti's Castle of Blood (1964), and Massimo Pupillo's Terror Creatures from the Grave (1965). Please note that Castle of Blood and Terror Creatures from the Grave will be included as bonus features on the same upcoming Blu-ray release. Nightmare Castle At the height of her career as the dark goddess of Italian horror, the legendary Barbara Steele (Black Sunday) delivered two of her most memorable performances in this tale of obsession, madness and depravity. Steele stars as a cheating wife who is chained, whipped and tortured to death by her sadistic scientist husband, and as her unstable blonde stepsister whose fate may be even more ghastly. Paul Muller (Vampyros Lesbos), Helga Line (Horror Express) and Rik Battaglia (Sister Emanuelle) co-star in this twisted shocker directed by Mario Caiano, featuring stunning black & white cinematography by Enzo Barboni and the very first horror score by Ennio Morricone. Throw away all those inferior transfers from censored TV prints: This is Nightmare Castle like you've never seen it before! Castle of Blood When American author, Edgar Allen Poe visits London, he is approached by British journalist Alan Foster, who becomes the target of a peculiar wager. Not believing Poe's assertion that all of his macabre stories have been based on actual experience, Foster accepts a bet from Poe and his friend Sir Thomas Blackwood that he cannot spend an entire night in the Blackwood's haunted castle. Once in the abandoned castle, Foster discovers that he is not alone. He is approached by two beautiful women, a handsome man and a doctor of metaphysics who explains they are lost souls... damned to replay the stories of their demise on the anniversary of their deaths! Starring Barbara Steele, Georges Rivière, Margrete Robsahm, Salvo Randone, and Sylvia Sorrente. Terror Creatures from the Grave This tale of betrayal and gruesome vengeance is based on the writings of Edgar Allan Poe. An attorney arrives at a gothic castle to settle the estate of a dead man who could summon the souls of ancient plague victims. The widow and her terrified daughter inform him that the castle is haunted by the dead man's spirit. One by one the occupants of the castle -friends and family who betrayed him- die a festering, torturous and violent death, leaving only the daughter and her lover to escape their dreadful fate. Starring Barbara Steele, Walter Brandi, Mirella Maravidi, Alfredo Rizzo, Riccardo Garrone, and Luciano Pigozzi. Independent distributors Severin Films have revealed that they are planning to add to their catalog director Robert Fuest's film The Devil's Rain (1975), starring Ernest Borgnine, Eddie Albert, Ida Lupino, William Shatner, and Keenan Wynn. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year. Synopsis: A bunch of Satanists in the American rural landscape have terrible powers which enable them to melt their victims. However one of the children of an earlier victim vows to destroy them. Patriarch Steve Preston goes missing and worried mom Emma (Ida Lupino) sends eldest son Mark (William Shatner) in search of his father. Suddenly, a dying, eyeless Steve returns and demands that the family: "Give Corbis what belongs to him!" before dissolving into a gelatinous meltdown. Corbis (Ernest Borgnine) is a Satanic priest hell-bent on recovering a valuable book listing the names of those who sold their souls to the devil... a book that resides with the Preston family. Mark refuses to hand it over and puts up a brave fight, only to wind up an unwilling sacrifice. Occult expert, Dr. Richards (Eddie Albert) and Mark's younger brother Tom (Tom Skerritt) plot to free the Prestons and destroy The Devil's Rain, a bottle containing the souls of those already damned. The battle rages as the elixir is released and a bloody rain of devilry and malevolence is loosed upon a screaming, melting world. http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=21073

THE DEVIL'S RAIN included the involvement of authentic Satanists in the picture. The Church of Satan’s founder and high priest, Anton Szandor LaVey, is credited as technical advisor. LaVey was also cast in the role of “High Priest” while his partner and co-founder of the Church of Satan, Diane Hegarty, played “Priscilla Corbis.” Although the couple never married, Diane Hegarty is credited with the name Diane LaVey. According to Anton LaVey’s “Nine Satanic Statements” from The Satanic Bible, The Church of Satan does not worship the devil, as is portrayed by the Corbis cult in THE DEVIL'S RAIN, but rather the symbolic representations of Satan and occultism that are deemed immoral by Christianity, such as indulgence, vengeance and selective kindness.
