The Werner Herzog documentary, "Happy People: A Year in the Taiga" (2010) is now free on Amazon Prime. I started watching it and have been entranced by the beautiful music. It is by Klaus Badelt but is sadly unavailable.
On Klaus Badelt's own website, it initially seems like the score is for sale because he has a link "Buy the Album", but that link goes to the following site with "Happy People" no where in sight (no pun intended): http://music.labelzero.com/
Anyone have any leads where it might be available for purchase?
I really like Klaus Badelt's music, and have collected a fair number of his soundtrack CDs over the years, but then new releases just dried up.
I think I recall him having a few titles on his website, maybe as digital downloads, or possibly even offering the option to purchase CDRs direct from him (unless I'm mistaken). Both of those choices didn't appeal to me, so I've no idea what he does these days. Many of those films listed on his website I've not heard of, I wonder how many gems there are amongst those... Oh well, never mind.
I'd love a proper CD release of Solomon Kane... was that digital-only, or completely unreleased?
And what about Catwoman? There seems to be a 2-disc "foot warmer" listed on SoundtrackCollector. I'm surprised LLL didn't pick that one up to go with their Batman titles.
Right, seems to be the same as the other site: samples, but no download. What a pity.
I'll admit that I am a CD purist, but given that it is really hard to tell the difference between 320kps mp3 and lossless, I'd settle for mp3s of the "Happy People" score.
