I would be very curious to know why Chris Young hasn't scored this and actually what he's been up to recently, since there is pretty much nothing on his upcoming projects list - hope he is well....
Aw damn! No offence to Tomandandy but i hadn't heard till this post that Chris Young wasn't doing the sequel. His score for the first one was incredible. I'm sure it was a difficult stand alone listen for a lot of folk but i loved his wild take on it. I've enjoyed a few Tomandandy scores but i imagine that this will be just the usual atmospheric by the numbers horror score.

Double damn, you posted my exact thoughts Spook... Haven't those guys covered this genre well enough? I know Young has too, but he always has some new, exciting innovation at least. I'll go play The Apparition now, that one's 'aight. ...
The sound of this sequel will really suffer without the oddities that Chris Young cooked up for the spooky original, not to mention Scott Derrickson's ear for quality black metal and ethereal wave music.
I don't mind Tomandandy scoring the sequel. I would even go as far as say that Chris Young's score for the first Sinister, the score as it appears in the movie as opposed to the reworked album, is not that dissimilar to Tomandandy's own style of scoring. I'm sure it will be equally disturbing.
Anyone know if this is still coming out on CD? Not a patch on Young's masterwork but I'm enjoying it (.. if you can say that about horror scores) for its own style.
