The two appeared together on this telecast, so I imagine they knew each other.
Has John Williams released any thoughts on Horner's passing? Would love to hear what he would say about James. Wow, the Grammy's were so generous to give the maestros a total of 3 minutes between the two of them.
My god, it's like the two 'rock star' film composers having a rap battle!
Horner starts first with the best selling score of all time, and Williams follows up with the previous record holder (and still #2 to the best of my knowledge).
Supposedly, when they passed the baton after Titanic, Williams said to him 'You might have been able to follow two classic Jerry Goldsmith sci-fi franchise openers, with arguably even more success than he'd had, and even pretended those first scores didn't exist like the young punk you are. But you couldn't have done that with my shit, no way, no how! Sit down young man and I'll show you why. Big Daddy's got the podium now.'
I've never seen a photo of the two together, and the clip above doesn't show them together either. It cuts directly from Horner to a brief insert of Lucas, and then Williams is on the podium. Does anyone know if one such picture exists?
Message from Moderator: Dear Brisbane, please don't post garbage like that ever again. It must have been good weed, booze or rubber cement that led to such a fantastically offensive post, but nobody here wants to see that. Have a nice day.
