I enjoyed it for what it was, but it felt like the first 3 minutes of a 20-minute piece....I wanted to hear where it went, but it didn't really go anywhere and consequently didn't really communicate anything to me...but it's fine - keep it up
It's got a sort of 'awakening' feel, a build up to a realisation. What was the imagery going through your mind at the time? It fits the title.
There's a lot going on in the strings, and lots of good counterpoint between the lines, and orchestral development.
How was it performed? 'Not all sampled surely.
The complexity, whilst giving the impression of simplicity in the overall arc is the sort of thing that's very useful in film composition: to create a complex, satisfying piece that still doesn't overwhelm or distract.
I can hear Glass and I can hear contemporary Elfman, as well as a little bit of contemporary Zimmer. Not bad! But as others said, it cuts off before the proper development is allowed to start. Hope you get to work on it further. I like the segue from the strings to the piano and brass halfway. Makes it less stale.
Zeeshan, I like it. It's a fine piece. Reminds me a lot of James Horner in in the mid-section "trumpet" (?) chattering - and the general minimalistic feel puts me in mind of something he maybe channelled into BICENTENNIAL MAN.
As others have said, it seems somewhat "inconclusive". Just like a soundtrack cue taken at random. It would be interesting if you could let us know the context. Is it imagined as solely a demo piece? Perhaps for an advertisement or something? Context can help listeners know what you're getting at in such a brief piece.
