Fascinating, and he is amazingly on the ball for an 84yo.

Thanks for sharing.

Like him or hate him, the man is amazing.

But again, the interviewer is just horrible. He doesn't seem to understand that you don't have to SCREAM at your subject when he (and the microphone) is just a few feet away).

Just gotta love this guy. I didn't know about him missing Leonard Nimoy's funeral. But I agree with his reasoning, and ironically its what Spock would have done.

It's an obvious real-life no-win situation (here's your Kobayashi Maru, Bill!), and due to the miracles of modern technology, everybody for whom the whole matter is frankly none of their business has a way to express their opinion, as if it matters. Shatner did the best he could, in my own irrelevant worthless opinion, and that's good enough for me, and would have been good enough for both Nimoy and Spock. The friendship between those two transcends any of our abilities to appreciate or understand it, and should remain between them, not an international spectacle to be played out before the cameras and on the internet.

On the other hand, I have to admit I still don't fully understand why Shatner wasn't at NASA's Enterprise space shuttle rollout in '76 . . .

Because it wasn't called the "Bill Shatner".

I remembered Shatner's motorcycle anecdote from his one-man show (and, I'm sure, at least one of his books). When he was a teenager, one of the tenants of a neighboring apartment bought a beautiful motorcycle which Shatner admired very much. Without the neighbor's knowledge or consent, Shatner would "borrow" the bike and ride it around the Canadian countryside, sometimes all night, without mentioning it to anybody, and without refilling its gas tank.

One day, the motorcycle was gone. Shatner happened to see the neighbor and asked him what became of the beautiful, new bike. "Oh, that thing got terrible gas mileage. I had to get rid of it."

he's had the Enterprise; he wanted the Exit prize.

I'm re-watching "Wild Wild West" series, and Conrad has his shirt off in every episode - much more than Shatner. It's too bad Shatner didnt do his own stunts like Conrad did.
