Because this is really a magnificent, old school-score that deserves any film score loverĀ“s attention.
It's really a modernist score masquerading as an old-school score.
If you're into Frontiere's suspense scoring like me (from years of re-watching The Invaders) this is where the great pleasure of the score is. For this type of cue, Frontiere is my favourite composer. The opening of track 11 on the CD is a great example.
Just ordered this from Intrada. Always had the Varese LP but havent played it for years. Always remember it being a wonderful score and what a great cover. Thanks for the thread bump otherwise I would never have known it was going OOP.
