This is my first post since his passing. And the only thread I've felt I can add to. But it's too hard.

If I go by the first score of his I played a lot, it's Gorky Park. But if I go by the score I've played the most over the years, it's Star Trek II...or maybe Krull.

But if I go by the score I most wished to see released, it's House of Cards.

But if I go by the score that I most became aware of because of movies my daughter watched growing up, it's Land Before Time...or maybe Balto.

But if I go by a score I kind of stumbled on and went wow, I've got to have that, it's Casper...or maybe Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius. No, Sneakers....or Patriot Games.

Too hard....

Yes, just way too many to call it.
A quick look at his filmography shows an abundance of classic scores ranging from sublime beauty to heart-stopping tension, with lots of electronic and exotic percussion threaded throughout.
It probably is true to say we will not see his like again.
He arrived - at a very early age - with all those tools in his locker and his practised use of them put him in the lap of the gods.

It's Avatar for me. This is his bach b-minor mass, where he rolled together all the tricks he'd ever learned and deployed them all in their ideal forms in a glorious portmanteau.

(Note: I am not necessarily referring to the somewhat inadequate album release)

An embarrassment of riches! Too many to choose from but my top five are:

Legends of the Fall
The Journey of Natty Gann
Braveheart
Cocoon
Star Trek II

God this is difficult! Wolf Totem should be in there....and The Rocketeer, Krull Willow Glory, Zorro.

This composer is already sorely missed....
