There is no reason for these releases to be mastered like modern pop music. Predator 2 is so good, but I agree with Spymaster that it's very shrill (especially the End Title cue, which has always been one of my go-to tracks). For all the sunshiney bullshit that DMD is shoveling at us all the time, you'd think he'd take even this one bit of information back to Townson and have him communicate this to the mastering team. The shrill nature of the recording may be reflective of the source, and that tells me the mastering may be minimizing the compression. It is my understanding that Varese do read these things, and they are very aware of what we are saying.

Great suggestion please keep them coming Shaun and thanks for supporting us over the years! You can also send us an email with suggestions or issues you may have with a release. We appreciate the feedback!

They might be aware of what we're saying, but they're not fixing any of the issues that keep coming up about the mastering. The original album sounded fine (if at times inaudible compared to modern scores). I don't know why, but it's like they jacked up the volume AND the treble on the Deluxe Edition.

Peggy Sue Got Married was brickwalled to the point where a wistful score became assaulting on the ears. Neither Outbreak or Gremlins 2 are brickwalled or normalized. A definite change in philosophy on those two. Gremlins 2 sounds great to me on my high end system, I have no complaints. And for those that actually care about the music, did anyone notice in the opening cartoon music the first chord to Max Steiner's Warner Bros. fanfare is used three times in succession as a stinger?

varese site says "less than 100", not 50 did you buy 50? If it's less than 50, it's obviously also less than 100.
