Down South we love our iced, sweet tea. Maybe it's just me but I'm convinced that restaurants, especially fast-food places put far more sugar into their tea than ever before. I can't even drink it from most places due to it being way too sweet; I rarely do so anyway, but if I order a combo-type meal at the drive-thru, I'll get tea.

I saw a documentary that showed a bowl of cold breakfast cereal being served. In they poured one brand of sugared cereal, then another brand.

Was that enough? No, then they added colored sugar sprinkles. And crumbled cookies.

Ugh.

Is this a real thing, or just a stunt for the camera? They did show a little girl chowing down on it.

I seem to recall that as well, from maybe the 80s?

Back in the 60s, Sugar was a part of the name of several breakfast cereals - "Flakes frosted with sugar", "Sugar Smacks", "Super Sugar Crisps", etc. Then suddenly it seems, nutritionists, doctors, etc., began proclaiming the health risks of refined sugar, etc., and even the names of those products began to change - "Super Golden Crisps", and so on.

Ock expressed his love for Pepsi, mine is Coca-Cola; always has been. Pepsi seems too sweet and has less "bite" to it.
I try not to drink more than 12oz per day, but I do love it. And I swear, it tasted better before they switched from cane sugar to HFC. Many people prefer(red) Mexican Coke to the US version as it contained cane sugar instead of HFC, although I understand that is changing as well.
My daughter says that Coke in glass bottles is better than cans or plastic bottles.

I consume enormous amounts of sugar and always have but I don't gain weight because of all the walking I do and water I drink. On average I have three mugs of coffee a day. I put three heaping scoops (spoons) of sugar in each serving plus vanilla creamer. That's nine scoops a day. 270 each month in addition to any other sugars I consume in my foods. Syrup on waffles. Drinking cola. I love it all and couldn't care less if it shaves a few years off my lifespan. Now excuse me while I enjoy some Little Debbie Nutty Bars. smile

I used to love going down on a mound of Sugar Puffs.

But then I discovered Coco Pops and it's true what they say - you can't go back.
