THE MARTIAN---trailer released for the Ridley Scott movie based on the novel. Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels and Kate Mara star. Premiere is November 25.

I just watched the trailer.
"Good-looking white guy in a tight corner, kicks some butt, beats the odds."
Ho hum. I'll wait until the dvd gets to the library.
No one wants to see "real" science fiction films more than me. But yeah, it looks a bit to much in your face with its messaging.
It's actually Ridley Scott's best film in years and one of the best movies this year. Check it out on the big screen. Great cast, superb effects and a whip smart script that makes this actually a fun thrill ride, rather than a dark and dreary rescue mission.

My 2-cents....
I rarely go to movies anymore, but I wanted to see THE MARTIAN, and I have to say that it's the BEST movie I've seen IN YEARS!! Also, I don't give a shit about 3D, but THIS 3D was AMAZING!!!!!! I encourage EVERYONE HERE to go see this movie!
