THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I honestly am so happy i could cry! The first volume that you released has probably remained the most played cd in my collection. I never thought we'd get a Volume 2 as I remember it being dismissed in a question ages back.
You have totally made my day!!

La-La Land Records and 20th Century Fox present a second volume of acclaimed composer Mark Snow’s (THE X-FILES, BLUE BLOODS, THE LONE GUNMEN) original score to the groundbreaking dramatic thriller television series MILLENNIUM, starring Lance Henriksen, Megan Gallagher and Terry O’Quinn, and created by Chris Carter (THE X-FILES). Haunting, soulful, terrifying and beautiful, Mr. Snow’s complex musical tapestry for this landmark show is an immersive experience to be treasured. This 2-CD presentation is a further exploration into the series’ most impressive musical moments – the perfect compliment to the first volume of the show’s music (which has just been re-issued). Produced by Mark Snow, Nick Redman and Mike Joffe, and mastered by James Nelson, this new compilation of original tracks is limited to 2000 units and features exclusive, in-depth liner notes from writer Randall D. Larson, (which include interview comments from the composer, writer producers Frank Spotnitz and Chip Johannessen and music editor Jeff Charbonneau – as well as a forward quote from Lance Henriksen). Hauntingly soulful art design is by Mark Banning.

Millennium has been one of my very favorite shows since its pilot aired almost 20(?!) years ago. To have another two discs of music is INCREDIBLE.

But to also finally have Luminary - probably the best scored episode of the show - on disc is... I don't even have words for it.

A big thanks to LLL for putting this new volume out.

And my copy is ordered.

And if you're a fan of the show, the fifth and final issue of the Millennium miniseries is out from IDW comics tomorrow.

How are the comics? Are they more like season one or more like season three? Hell, I could even take seasonm two -- just not that last season.

I'm a huge fan of Snow's work on the X-Files. Do you recommend buying both of these Millennium sets or are they too different?

If you're a fan of The X-Files, both of these sets are a must buy!! Stylistically, they have much in common. But like the show, there is enough of a difference to make it worth the purchase.

Baci87, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you purchase both. In some or most cases, Snow's work on Millennium trumps the X-Files with ease. In LeHah's words from the other thread:

Millennium is more melodic - vaguely Celtic, vaguely cello concerto, more organic - than X-Files, which tends to be more percussive and synth (not in a bad way). Xfiles has a wealth of different musical ideas because of how the show changed gears most every episode, while Millennium had a constant feeling of "dour" or "sadness".

I find this to be an extremely accurate account of the Millennium music. But as a huge longtime X-Files and Millennium fan, just trust me: get them both!

Hope you enjoy them (I'm sure you will). As much as I like his X-Files music I find Millennium to be more melodic, emotional, moody than X-Files. Vol 2 includes music from "Luminary". A great score for a great episode.

The comics are good. Solid. Not "run out and buy them!" if you're not a big fan of the show, but if you liked it as much as I did, then they're a nice bookend. The first two issues have a bit too much of Fox Mulder (the initial plot ties in with a X-Files backstory) before spinning out into what seems a coda for the series.

So... anyone receive their Millennium Volume 2 order yet? I'm eagerly awaiting mine in the post and am curious as to how this stacks up against volume 1.

Chris.

Mine arrived yesterday and upon first listen, I find it's a perfect elaboration on the first volume.
