Anyone?

Not in the flesh, but in the episode GOMER GOES HOME, his photo as Barney and the Barney Fife Theme shows up.

Check it out when Gomer is at the Court House starting around the 4:00 mark.

No, but Aunt Bee, Goober and Opie and Andy all appeared in crossover episodes (the last two appearing together at the end where Andy comes to pick up Opie after he ran away to go to Camp Henderson). Interestingly, in somewhat of a role of the reverse, Ronnie Schell (Duke Slater) appeared as a television director in an episode of "The Andy Griffith Show" where Aunt Bee appears in a commercial promoting furniture polish. However, it would've been interesting if Barney appeared on "Gomer Pyle - U.S.M.C." (which itself was loosely inspired by "No Time For Sergeants" which Knotts had a small role, and the television version premiered the same season as "Gomer Pyle - U.S.M.C.".

I'm thinking they probably at least offered Knotts a guest spot on GOMER, but perhaps he was so busy with his new found feature film career, it just couldn't be worked out in his schedule. He was probably doing films back to back after leaving Griffith. THE GHOST AND MR. CHICKEN, THE RELUCTANT ASTRONAUT, SHAKIEST GUN IN THE WEST, THE INCREDIBLE MR. LIMPET, THE LOVE GOD, HOW TO FRAME A FIG and a slew of Disney Films to boot. And he did make 3 or 4 Guest Appearances on THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW itself, after leaving the show officially.

Always loved the Original GRIFFITH Shows that featured Gomer, Andy and Barney all together. Those were always the best for me.

Especially when Andy tries to get Barney out of trouble, such as the episode where he saves Andy and Helen Crump from the mine cave in, and the episode that involved the punch in the nose. There was was at least one episode from the sixth season that involved his replacement Warren who idolized Barney where you can see Barney in his uniform in color! Jack Burns was adequate, but he was no Don Knotts. And another was the episode where he and Gomer try to get rid of the useless salve and he and Barney changes their voices as "Dr. Pendyke And His Assistant".

Other good Gomer on the Andy Show episodes were, when Barney got his first car and when they were going to put on a Band Concert and Gomer didn't want to get under the Gazebo cause there were spiders under there. Also Gomer and Andy and Barney in that old Haunted House. Gomer tagging along on dates with Barney and Andy and their girls. So many great ones! It was nice to see how Gomer matured when he graduated to the U.S.M.C.!

All the Griffith spin offs including MAYBERRY R.F.D. always had a special heart and soul and were always fun light hearted and even sometimes very Dramatic and truly touching entertainment. Best stuff on TV for me, that will never be achieved again in this day and age of crap.

Yeah, Zooba, agreed, the original seasons, black and white, with the original cast, always the best, the funniest, most charming and best written. I feel like those episodes, and they were making a lot in a year back then, are some of the best television ever made. Genuine and creative stuff.

FYI, you can see the window of Floyds Barbership in the background of City on the Edge of Forever as Kirk walks down the sidewalk with Edith Keeler. Amazingly, Lucys' production company was behind two of the best television shows ever made.
