I totally agree. The film-going public pretty much know how Spidey got his powers now, we don't need to see it for a third time. Just get on with the movie for goodness sake. And please God can they get the casting right this time.

They just can't seem to get the movies right any more the same way nobody seems to be able to do a decent Superman movie (Man of Steel had a bland lead actor, a dull story and the action was awful and don't even get me started on Superman Returns, an irredeemably dire movie).

If the CBM bubble does burst, it will be thanks to Marvel's properties (in the hands of three different studios), which will suck because we won't get to see many of DC's heroes, save on the small screen (which WB enjoys a bit of success with, anyway).

The best actor for Peter Parker/Spider-Man is actually Grant Gustin, who plays Flash on the TV show. He looks and acts like Parker.

And no, we don't need yet another Spider-Man origin film in the same way we don't require yet another Batman origin film before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Man of Steel was based on elements of John Byrne's '80s reboot and Mark Waid's Birthright.

Even if you don't like Henry Cavill (which probably means you're one of the people who'll never accept any other actor after Chris Reeve in the role), how can you say the action was awful? We finally got a proper depiction of what a battle between multiple Kryptonians would entail. It went on too long for some people, but they posed a serious threat to Superman, as opposed to the by-the-numbers fight choreography we got in the second Avengers movie (now there's a movie with a lot of problems, not the least of which is the villain).

Sorry the only true Superman was George Reeves.

I thought it was cringe worthy and still do. It's horribly acted, had uninteresting characters, a weak story, and was terribly boring. And this is someone who loves 2001 and ST TMP so I don't need constant action.

OMG, I thought I was the only one!

I'm so emotional right now........

I love Reeve in the role but ai'm open-minded to believe that someone else can do it as well or possibly even better. But they haven't done yet, Cavill is wooden and Brandon Routh was just as bad.

As to the action in MoS, I just thought it was dreadfully choreographed and shot, particularly the batt,e between Supes and Zod, which had them zooming about like Kryptonian pin balls. Hated all that and the shakey cam as well. Conversely I thought the choreography of the action set pieces in Age of Ultron were brilliant - there was actually a moment where the hair on my neck stood up.

There are only so many ways to convey superspeed, and two of the principal methods are zooming and slo-mo. Slo-mo gets old after a while, and I liked how Man of Steel avoided it. It's the first movie that correctly depicts combat between super-powered beings (Iron Man flying around and firing his repulsors at other armored beings doesn't count) with today's advanced CG.

The opening of Age of Ultron bothered me, especially the reuse of the tracking shot (that's a gimmick that only works once).

Then, at the end, we had "the circle" where they take out all the Ultron clones (most of them must have been stuck in the In-N-Out drive-thru for much of the battle), and the hilarious deus ex machina Helicarrier rescue. The whole movie follows the first movie, though, beat for beat. Joss wasn't thinking too hard. I think he wanted to wrap it and hoof it.

(And again, the worst part about it all was Ultron. He wasn't really Ultron.)

Serviceable? Sure. Brilliant? Hardly.
