Here's a Columbia recording made in 1928 of George at the piano playing "My One and Only" from his musical "Funny Face". You can hear the muscularity and energy of Gershwin's playing and this particular tune is full of invention and rhythmic complexity. And the melody is so Jewish in its minor key incarnation. At 36" the real tune starts and isn't it absolutely superb!!
