I recently interviewed Michael Giacchino (a pleasure, as always!). He supplied me with music from Tomorrowland, Jurassic World, and Inside Out, and I think all three scores are among his best. The interview and music air Saturday, May 23rd on WQXR, and again on Sunday, May 24th on WNYC -- both stations are in New York City. I'm told the music from Jurassic World and Inside Out will be world premiers!

Michael Giacchino's Three Summer Blockbusters
Composer Michael Giacchino has scored three of this summer's big movies: the special effects thrillers "Tomorrowland" and "Jurassic World," and the Pixar animated feature "Inside Out." Fresh from completing nearly five hours of music for these films, Giacchino joins David Garland to present music from "Tomorrowland," and to give us the world premier of music from "Jurassic World" and "Inside Out." Giacchino shares his thoughts and insights about the particulars of these scores, and about the art and joy of writing music for film.

Aaaargh! I missed most of it. I only got to hear a bit of Inside Out (which sounds wonderful, but I was especially excited over Jurassic World).
