^And much obliged to forum members: Nutsie (Andrew P. from Atlanta) & Francis (from Belgium) for riding my ass to watch this film. It was only several years...I was so long over DOO...
Would love to hear anyone else's smash ass goodies!!
Chris, Francis & William -- so good to "see" y'all again!! I've been up to my eyes in work. Oh well. I guess there's no rest for the wicked!!
*William -- the Kraken has been released..."Call no man happy who is not dead"
That said, taking a break and visiting the board. Feels good to veg out
Chris -- that YouTube video is reminiscent of what Herbert West (aka: Reanimator) might look like *if* conducting a piano waltz in a “Clue” like atmosphere…hee hee!
So, this is another scene I enjoy as well which utilizes "source music" to some degree:
Great use of source music in that scene from HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, Holly (of course a fine film too). Also very interesting in how it plays with the diegetic, intra-diegetic and non-diegetic -- as the terms are so fancily called -- moving in and out of her head, from outside etc. to create various effects.
You reminded me of this wonderful dance/disco sequence from EX MACHINA (my favourite film of 2015), which comes out of nowhere in the film and stands on its own as a piece in its own right:
Thor -- that clip is so spot-on. It reminds me of a passive-aggressive scene that may occur in Battle Royale or Ichi...
Mr. Jack -- I loved that film and everything Elisabeth Shue! She is so awesome, and quite a wonderful person to boot. Crazy enough though...my favourite film of her "lead" is Leaving Las Vegas? Lord knows I know about that...
So leaving y'all with a funny this evening...just got off work and need a belly fixing
Now that I realize "Stella" means "stellar", I would say that Jerry Fielding's superb source for The Mechanic (1972), qualifies. It's the psychedelic freak out cue The Party, which is heard while Jan-Michael Vincent's creep-o Boomer hippie jerks shuck and jive while the forever-cool Charles Bronson indifferently looks on.
