Thanks for the insider takes on all this.

You mean Varese WASN'T flooded with letters for Boulevard Nights then?
Hmmm....

I know you are kidding but let me expand on that.

Yes, Boulevard Nights was on lists of things people wanted by Lalo. We were able to license it and put it out. If a title was on a request list or a fan said: Please release more of composer X or composer Y we would research and go with it. Sometimes we'd check lists here. Sometimes we'd get long lists from fans from all over the world we'd tally. So yes, people did request this as a broader Schifrin request or on a list filled with 20 or so requests.

I know some don't want to believe it but (not you but others I've read) these smaller scores fit an agenda Peter and I wanted to do....find those cool unreleased scores that fans say they want from a popular composer and put them out. If Peter, Cary and I didn't have to fight with egos, Dante's Peak would have most likely been a We Hear You. We wanted to put out SeaQuest years ago. We wanted a bunch of other cool titles as well. Regardless....I think you like what you see from the new Club. Cary and I sure do.

There are so many releases we tried to do YEARS ago that you all wanted, but Robert Townson stopped us from giving you what you wanted. smile

Thanks again Bryon - I know that was typically facetious of me, but I've been around these parts far too long & didn't recall ever seeing that title requested for example. Nothing against Lalo Schifrin or Varese! Just seemed that catalogue vinyl titles had more pub than that one, just as one example.

I DO like & am "all in" the direction things are heading now. Shame that since forgotten concerts that were unreachable for 80% or more of this fanbase took precedence...

Amen. Someone felt concerts were more important (and don't get me wrong...I love live music) than the core business we were in. While your point is taken on Boulevard Nights, it fell into the idea of the series...More unreleased Schifrin meant whatever was still out there should be targeted. That one came together faster than others. In the end, the Lalo completist is happy and we could say We Hear You for those that wanted it.

When changes happened it was decided to focus on the Club and if something doesn't fit that, make it available as limited edition. Concord are cool music people. They see the vision for the Club and I think you and so many others will be happy with the releases coming. I am happy. So many cool things yet to be expanded.

STV 81281 Ewoks: Caravan of Courage, an Ewok Adventure/ The battle for Endor - Peter Bernstein

Will there ever be a chance for an expanded re-release of this one?
A straight re-issue would not be so great. It was a 30 Minutes album with only a handful of cues from each score.

I will say that I am quite happy with Varese's recent releases. Not everything has been "for me" but it seems things I've seen lots of requests for are being put out. Its seems like that across the board actually, but I point out VS because public opinion (or FSM community opinion anyway smile ) was that there were slacking.

We Hear You was the catalog team's attempt to fill customer requests that one person never saw interest in pursuing.

Most of Us Hear You
