Most end credits from TV movies are not longer than a minute in length, so the composers are faced with limited time to let their music be heard.

Nevertheless, some composers manage to write some insanely catchy themes in such a short time.

One of them is Sylvester Levay with his many fine ending themes in the 80s and 90s. An example is his end credit theme from the 1993 film Stalking Laura. Goose bumps:

Love Bill Conti's end titles from NORTH & SOUTH, DYNASTY and FALCON CREST!

Courage's STAR TREK end title is classic as well.

And let's not forget Debney's SEAQUEST end title, another fun reprisal of his great main theme, and LoDuca's HERCULES end title...

Also always loved Maury Law's brief but stirring end title for the Rankin/Bass RETURN OF THE KING, a dynamic orchestral reprise of his theme for King Aragon.

I'm sure there are tons I'm not aware of, too... For my money though Conti is the master of 'super short' end title cues for television.

I adore the guitar version of the Buck Rogers theme in the end credits. Nice contrast to the rousing main titles.

Of course this is all ancient history, save for premium cable shows.

These days, not only can you NOT hear the end title music, you can't even READ the end titles as they are shrunk to postage stamp size so the coming programs can be promo-ed at the top of the screen, and blow by at about less than a second each.

This one brings back memories.....a wonderful "End Theme" by the great Harry Lubin.

Yes, a pity indeed.

For which I ask why do they even "air" the end credits anymore? You can't possible read them. If it's a union thing that they must air the end credit then it's one hell of a loop hole. "Yes, the end credits are shrunk down to postage stamp size, and sped up so fast no one can read them anyway, but we did run them!"

There was this 1979 disaster TV movie called Disaster on the Coastliner with Lloyd Bridges, EG Marshal and William Shatner. It had a great score by Gerald Fried and a nice long end credits sequence.

My favorites are the Trek shows, Dukes of Hazzard, TJ Hooker, A-Team, Lois & Clark, Knighr Rider, etc etc etc etc lol I always loved how they used to show screen caps from the aired episode into the end credits
