One of the most exciting and intriguing Jerry Goldsmith CD's to ever be pressed. Not so much for the disc's actual content but how it was recorded and of course how it sounds. For this disc is the first compilation of film music to be specially recorded to demonstrate the amazing new SACD format from Philips and Sony. Jerry Goldsmith recorded a series of his most popular themes in January 2000, with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. This disc was produced by Philips strictly for demonstration purposes. Although capable of playing on a standard CD player, this CD is a hybrid disc and comes to life when heard on the appropriate hardware.
