After the concert he signed copies of his newly released (only in Norway) Pas de Deux CD, that was on sale in the lobby.

The CD is available from AmazonUK on 25 May...

Sounded like a great concert. I'm really enjoying his score for 'Wolf Totem' as well.

Sorry to say I didn't run into Morten, would have been nice to say hello!

Anyway the show was really great and I was truly impressed by SSO's performance as well as the conductor Torodd Wigum whom I chatted briefly with after the show. I also got to meet James Horner himself so that was a rare treat indeed.

My favorite part was the Avatar suite which was identical to the one from Hollywood in Vienna back in 2013, but seemed to have even more "oomph" this time around - owing perhaps to the incredible acoustics of the Fartein Valen venue at the Stavanger Concert House.

Pas De Deux was a delightful half hour with some great solo performances, a lot of "Spitfire Grill"-isms and a cracking finale with some Rocketeer/Wrath of Khan type stuff. Nearly blew the roof off the building.

Yes, I saw your (and Kim's) pics with Horner on facebook. Did you exchange a few words with him as well?

I desperately wanted to be there myself, but as I said earlier, I'm travelling to Lisbon in a couple of hours, and the logistics simply didn't go up.

LISBON! Do you have letters of transit?

Morten,

Thanks for the report. Did you bump into fellow FSM members Jostein and Kim, who were also there?

I desperately wanted to be there myself, but as I said earlier, I'm travelling to Lisbon in a couple of hours, and the logistics simply didn't go up.

By the way, I'm always amused by your screenname, because a friend/colleague of mine is Morten Steingrimsen, who is one of the biggest Bond fans in the country, and who runs jamesbondnorge.no. To have two Norwegian guys named Morten who are both hardcore Bond fans is a weird coincidence. But you, of course, are also heavy into film music, which he is not.

Thor, the book mentined in my post is written by both me and Morten, so you see, we know each other well. A Bond book by Morten and Morten!

I do not know any of the other FSMers, so could not have said hello to any of them.

I was lucky enough to chat briefly with him yes, it was great. I congratulated him on a great show and complimented the orchestra's performance which he agreed with.

Ah, I take it you've never seen Casablanca. Your loss, my shrug.
