TUESDAY, APRIL 14

THE ALIENIST---Cary Fukunaga (TRUE DETECTIVE) will direct the tv miniseries based on the novel set in 1896 New York in which a doctor, a journalist and Police Commissioner Theodore Roosevelt team up to stop a serial killer terrorizing the city.





STAR WARS---LucasFilm announced that over 30 hours of Star Wars Celebration Anaheim will be streamed live on StarWars.com beginning on 10:00 am PST on April 16. Among those appearing are Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels and JJ Abrams.





IN COLD BLOOD---tv miniseries underway based on the Truman Capote book with Gary Oldman as co-producer. The 1967 movie based on the book starred Robert Blake and Scott Wilson.





WONDER WOMAN---director Michelle MacLaren (THE WALKING DEAD, BREAKING BAD) has left the Warner Bros./DC Comics movie due to "creative differences".

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE---Olivia Munn (THE NEWSROOM) will play Psylocke in the sequel.





GRAND THEFT AUTO---Bill Paxton is in talks to co-star with Daniel Radcliffe in this movie based on the book about a Miami lawyer who battles the co-founder of the "Grand Theft Auto" video game company to ban video game violence.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST---Gugu Mbatha-Raw has joined the cast of the Walt Disney Pictures remake of its animated movie.

CAPTAIN MARVEL---writers Nicole Perlman (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY) and Meg LeFauve (INSIDE OUT) are in talks to write the script.

HBO---renewed VEEP and SILICON VALLEY.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL---Sarah Paulson is returning.

THEIR FINEST HOUR AND A HALF---World War II romantic comedy movie underway based on the novel about a British film crew that is assigned to make a movie that will boost England's morale during the Blitz on London. Gemma Arterton, Bill Nighy and Sam Claflin star.

Just get James Mangold or someone to do a 3 hour film based on GTA IV. Tim Roth for Niko Bellic. big grin He doesn't look much like the character but has the swagger, sense of humor and edgy feel needed for Niko.

But we'd probably get Daniel Craig, or Statham.

Though they're apparently using the game's title, it sounds more as though the movie is going to be a docudrama about the game rather than an adaptation of it, and presumably won't require actors to portray the game's characters.

Oh, I got that part fine.

I just meant the proposed movie about the developers versus a lawyer doesn't sound interesting.
