Does this set contain a few hours of tracked music, then?
Or was the music taken from previous series rerecorded?

The people at AP Films/Century 21 (and ITC in general) reused the cues without rerecording them.

The Thunderbirds 4cd set has arrived and I am very, very impressed.

Thank you, John for taking the time to order this superb set for me, your efforts are greatly appreciated.

This is a truly tremendous collection of some of the greatest music ever written for a T.V. series and I am one very happy fella.

Actually, they can only buy two sets maximum.

I believe that's just an initial limit during the first few months of sales in order to help ensure that any member who wants a copy is able to get one, since their sets are limited to fairly small quantities. AFAIK, the two-copy limit on their Space:1999 Year 1 set has been lifted (it's been removed from the item description in the store, anyway).

I became a member last year in order to buy the Space:1999 set, and also purchased the other albums that they still had available (all together I'd say they justified the initial cost of membership), as well as Thunderbirds when it came out. My membership has lapsed now, and I need to renew in the next month or two if I want to continue receiving the magazine without interruption. I haven't decided yet if I'll give it another year and see if a Space:1999 Year 2 set is forthcoming... the magazine is well-produced and pretty informative.

Got this set for Christmas 2015. Just an amazing collection of music from one of the greatest TV shows ever made for adults and children.

I didn't realise that some of the cues were taken from earlier shows and also used again in later shows.

I think it comes to at least 300 minutes of music so will keep my happy probably forever.

Though I still have Fireball XL5 and Stingray to go and I haven't stopped listening to Captain Scarlet as well. Fabulous stuff that is just ageless.

Barry Gray overload!

What's the Captain Scarlet set like, I fancied this to go with the wonderful Thunderbirds set, but as the reality of retirement and being a house owner again kicks in, I find myself, once again in a position when I can't afford to join Fanderson. However if the Captain Scarlet set is really good, I may attempt to scrape enough money together and take the plunge. Any info would be appreciated.

I can confirm that a Space 1999 Year 2 extended set is currently in development and will have added bonus input from the composer Derek Wadsworth's own personal mix recordings and manuscripts.
The set will be followed up by a 40th Anniversary treatment also of Joe 90.

I was considering going down the friend who's already a member of Fanderson route, and then whilst wondering what I wanted for Christmas, I decided to take the plunge and include membership among the gift list my wife always asks for to circulate with relatives. Wonderful.

I've always been an Anderson fan, but not to the extent of joining. But now with so many soundtracks I thought I'd just add the price of membership over all the cds I'm getting. By joining near Christmas I decided I could get Stingray and UFO, before putting the latest two, Thunderbirds and Scarlet on my birthday list, which is March. By then I'll have all the cds I really want and can happily let membership lapse. I feel I have enough Joe 90 with the Silva release, and Fireball, Supercar and Space 1999 with the original Fanderson releases (the the former two on one disc), which I DID get via the friend. Of course this might change when I've got my wishlist sorted!

Because these releases are definitely worth the effort however we do it. They so beautifully put together in both appearance and content that all other considerations are as dust in the wind!

To be fair, I am a UK resident. So mail prices are not as bad as for elsewhere.

Any chance, any chance at all that DOPPELGANGER will ever (even partially) be released by Fanderson?
