There's all kinds of talk about water here. The most surprising was hearing that a blueberry takes 46 gallons of water to grow. (or was it a blueberry bush?)
Where are the damn dams?? All that precious mountain snow melting and running into the ocean!
Exactly. The state needs to build reservoirs and manage the coming years' water for the survival of humans rather than some little baitfish.
There's ZERO mountain snow, folks. That's the problem.
Reservoirs we have, yes. We just use, use, use the water up feeding the nation with our farms (and watering our stupid golf courses and thirsty plants brought in from every other climate in the world except this one).
It really is ridiculous that we have so many farms using so much of the water to grow crops. Though I bet certain farmers would import water from other states if cut off from in-state water because of just how profitable things like Almonds are.
And yes I agree the ridiculous amount of green around Southern California, in particular San Diego is dumb. People act like we don't live in a desert. I'm surprised it takes a drought to get people to the point where they seriously consider planting natives.
