I'd be shocked if this reissue is of the expanded program. Roger himself was lamenting this title sometime this past year as one they tried to get a new license on to rerelease as an MAF title in complete form, but that another company had beaten them to the license. Now that we know who it was I'd think the chances of this being more than just the original album to be pretty low.
We are very excited to re-lease the soundtrack to Paul Verhoeven's ROBOCOP featuring the score by Basil Poledouris. The CD / Digital / 2xLP release will come out on July 17.
the 23 track album has been remastered from the original tapes in the MGM vaults. Warner Studios in Burbank handled the mix and the mastering.
The CD and digital release will feature the theatrical key poster we all know.
The vinyl release has been supervised by Nicolas Winding Refn and is presented on a tip-on silver/metallic gatefold with an original artwork by Jay Shaw. 3,000 units of the vinyl were pressed on 180gm red vinyl.
Some of Nicolas Wingding Refn's comments from the linked article above :
“Vinyl says a lot about you as a person...When you go to somebody’s house, and look around, you very quickly can tell what a person is like based on their music.”
“My mother and stepfather were heavily into Motown and soul...my way of going against that was this very, very synthetic feel" .
Geez.
That being said, hey, it's good to have the chance to pick this up on CD since I missed the Intrada.
"Vinyl says a lot about you as a person...When you go to somebody’s house, and look around, you very quickly can tell what a person is like based on their music.” ---------------------------- Wow! What a pretentious dick! A complete know-nothing. I've never cared for his pretentious, cold-fish films, now I'm seeing why!

What is "tip-on"? I saw this in some other LP announcement as well.

It's basically where the cover is printed on paper that's pasted onto the cardboard that makes up the LP cover, as opposed to being directly printed onto the cover. It's a little more expensive but adds a bit of heft to the cover.
