ok... the news got finally confirmed by FMR:

Theodore Shapiro is set to reunite with Ben Stiller on the upcoming comedy sequel Zoolander 2. The film stars Stiller himself in the title role, Owen Wilson who returns as Hansel, Will Ferrell as Mugatu, Christine Taylor as Matilda, as well as new addition Penélope Cruz. Stiller has written the screenplay with Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2) and is also producing the project with Stuart Cornfeld (Dodgeball, Starsky & Hutch, The Fly). Shapiro has previously composed the music for Stiller’s previous two directorial efforts, Tropic Thunder and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale) has scored the 2001 original film. Zoolander 2 will be released on February 12, 2016 by Paramount Pictures.

First Skyfall/Spectre, then Independence Day 2, now 2oolander. Man...did David Arnold run over somebody's cat? wink

Theodore Shapiro is great with the comedies though. Love his score for Dodgeball.

Since he has scored so many things Ben Stiller has either directed or produced since the first Zoolander, it comes as no surprised that Shapiro is scoring the film... Definitely cuirous what he will come up with... and hopefully one more interesting project for him for 2016 will get finally confirmed soon too!

Not a lot of people saw this film. Doesn't mean the score's not worthy of course.

The score is among the best I've heard this year...
The movie... well... could be much worse as well... although the best scenes belong to Will Ferrell.

I'm willing to bet that that's why it disappeared from Spotify. I could swear it was up there for a day in February.

It is still on itunes for those interested in that sort of thing, I am not.
The CD is still being pushed for weeks and weeks. Originally it was scheduled for March 18... now it's whole month later...

The film was the sort of bomb that often means the album never comes. Not saying that will happen. But I have to imagine they thought it would sell to some fans of the film, and this film did worse than "The Boy," "Dirty Grandpa," and "The 5th Wave."
