Ok, so my iPhone 5 is getting a little tired now so time to get me a new lil gadget.

I'm pretty tempted by the iPhone 6 - reviews seem to be good, it looks lovely and although IOS inst perfect by any means, I quite like the interface. But I'm open to alternatives.

So, what smartphones do you guys have and do you like or loathe them?

Well unless you want to switch over to a completely different system I would stick with the next iPhone. It all depends how comfortable you were with iOS on your current phone. I'm an android guy and always will be because I like the customization options I have and it feels closer to Windows than iOS. If you are a Mac guy then stick with the iPhone because it will be more comfortable.

If you are considering possibly getting an Android then I would suggest playing around with a few models in the store because many manufacturers change Android slightly, meaning you have a very different experience depending on the brand you buy.

I have a bare bones phone that works off refillable airtime. Don't use it for the internet, I never text, and only use it to call home from work.

Being a grumpy old bastard, hey, when I was younger we had to wait to get home to use the phone, or find a payphone somewhere razz

It pisses me off to no end when people come to my place of business with their phones glued to their ears, talking endlessly, including when they've asked me to help them with something and they don't have the f*cking courtesy to get off the phone when I'm trying to speak to them. Or, they're texting non-stop. Just stupid and rude , Grrrr.

Not everyone behaves that way of course, but it seems to be more often than not.

In my case, it probably boils down to not having to have every conversation RIGHT NOW. Most times it can wait until I get home to make that call big grin

Decided to go with a 64K iPhone 6 - only had it a few hours so a bit early to give the full verdict but initial indications are it is superb!

That's what I love about Android too. I don't root my phone or "flash" ROMs, but I like trying out the various launchers when I get sick of the manufacturer skin (I especially like Nova and Google launcher). The G2 turned me into a sort of LG fanboy and I now have the G3. I like how LG adds a bunch of features to their skin that usually aren't accessible without a launcher or rooting your phone. Both the G2 and G3 have so many customization features (and awesome battery life) it makes it more fun to use my phone (I wish they added screen recording like the Sony Z3 though). Last week I manually updated my G3 to Lollipop 5.0.1 through LG's Web site and it works great!
