James Best was featured in far, far too many TV productions for me to have ever seen them all. However, my very favorite performance was in a 1962 Twilight Zone episode called "The Last Rites Of Jeff Myrtlebank." He was amazing!

Yes, James Best was great in that TZ episode...:-)
He also appeared in the two Killer Shrews movies and appeared in the beginning of Ray Harryhausen's THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS. He was living in my home state of North Carolina. RIP.
He was in the "The Twilight Zone" episodes "The Grave" and "The Last Rites Of Jeff Myrtlebank". The first named ihe appeared in was with Lee Marvin, whom he previously appeared in the feature film "The Raid".
Anybody know why, after being around since 1950 in both movies and TV, Best strangely got the billing "and introducing JAMES BEST" in Jerry Lewis' THREE ON A COUCH in 1966?
(I also was totally unaware of his role in RETURN OF THE KILLER SHREWS in 2012--once should have been enough for this talented character actor.)

"Jeff and Comfort are still alive today, and their only son is a United States Senator. He's noted as an uncommonly shrewd politician, and some believe he must have gotten his education - in The Twilight Zone."
