A while back, I managed to see the hard-to-find (in the U.S., anyway) 1970 British caper film PERFECT FRIDAY starring Ursula Andress and Stanley Baker. The film was distributed in the U.S. by the briefly active (1968-71) Chevron Pictures. PERFECT FRIDAY is rather tongue-in-cheek, and has the requisite quantity of romantic and heist-related crosses and double-crosses. The film’s score is by John Dankworth. Here’s the main title, which is a jaunty march that lets one know that the film is not as serious as it sometimes pretends to be. I can hear a little of MODESTY BLAISE in there.
