Couldn't find a topic about the lovely and moving James Newton Howard score for MY GIRL, written in 1991, one of the most prolific and successful year for the composer.
As far as I can remember, there're about 40 minutes of music, mainly for piano and strings ensemble, in the vein of the excellent THE MAN IN THE MOON (and sometimes reminiscent of THREE MEN AND A LITTLE LADY).
Both this and Paradise came out the same year. Hard for me to mention or hear mentioned one without the other coming to mind. Wonderful coming of age films with a couple of young killer actresses and fine scores, among other things.
I have the song album which includes a lot of great things (especially from the early 70s) and among them one very charming cue by JN Howard. A score album would be great.
