I really tried to pay attention to the score during season 3. I found that it was not as intense as the previous installments. Part of me felt that this was due to the change in relationships in the series, and how the direction of power is shifting downwards towards the end of the season. It had a gloomier sound.
Whereas in the previous season it was more driven towards the end goal of achieving the Presidency. This season score shows sings that the House of Cards is starting to wobble or is on the verge of collapsing.
I really liked this season's score. It was much darker than the first two seasons. The menacing choral stuff we heard at the end of last season is back as well as a great string section that reminds me a lot of Max Richter's "November". I hope we see it on disc.
Underwhelmed with the story this season. I think they ruined Claire's character.
