I might have missed other posts about this release; if so, I'm sorry to bring it up again in a different thread.

In 2014, UMG released a fantastic 5-CD set of music from the films of Francois Truffaut, with four discs collecting tracks from many different labels, plus a fifth disc of of new/variant recordings of some themes.

I have to say that THE BRIDE WORE BLACK tracks sound better than I've ever heard them. There's also an interesting quintet version of two cues from FAHRENHEIT 451 on the fifth disc.

Over all, a wonderful collection, with music by Delerue, Herrmann, Maurice Jaubert and others.

It's a limited edition set and I think the Fahrenheit 451 cue is taken from the great CD Divine Féminin by the Traffic Quintet (Alexandre Desplat artistic director)

I listened very closely and compared the four Herrmann tracks of "La Mariée était en noir" from this set to the Kritzerland release (coupled with Twisted Nerve) and that one definitely sounds better than this new set.

On the other hand, this set has for the first time the original tracks from "La Peau douce" (4 in total) by Delerue in stereo.

The one track of Fahrenheit 451 on disc 5 is indeed from 'Divine féminin' (2011) by the Traffic Quintet. The other five Fahrenheit 451 tracks on disc 1 are taken from Herrmann's own recording for Decca Phase4 as heard on The Fantasy Film World of BH.

The booklet (44 pages in both French and English) is an interesting read with contributions by Georges Delerue, François Porcile and Alain Souchon. The binding is not very good though as several pages detached already from my booklet. The CD's come in carton sleeves. But for it's price (if you happen to live in Europe where you can order it cheap) this is an excellent set if you don't already own this music on other releases.
