James, Can you give us an update on when the recording sessions for the new "Sodom And Gomorrah" recording will take place? I sure hope you will treat us to the same type of great videos you provided during the "Obsession" recording sessions a few months ago. Many Thanks!

I don't know why S&G needs a brand new thread started EVERY dang time someone wants to know an update about it (seriously, this is like the third time a new thread has started rather than continuing the first thread about it). That said, I'm glad there's continual interest and James's update is very exciting! I can't wait for this one as it's honestly one of my favorite Rozsa scores, and aside from his Sinbad score, the most recent one in need of a re-recording.
I do hope some of his earlier scores that are otherwise *completely* lost (Four Feathers, anyone?) will eventually get looked at for re-recording as well.

Yeah, I know the search engine is screwed up (Google search is a way around it in most cases though) but it's like they don't know how to bookmark their thread and bump it every time they ask for an update...

Yavar
Yes indeed ! FOUR FEATHERS and a complete THIEF OF BAGHDAD. And if Intrada won't get around to it, a noir gem called BLOOD ON THE SUN. What's out there now on CD is all we have with poor sound quality.

very good point..the Sinbad score is such a source of frustration: some of the very best late Rozsa...and such bad sound (and the performance isn't great either).
I don't know, I really like these "Sodom and Gomorrah" updates. I suppose that's because the score is right at the top of my all time favorites and I'm really looking forward to that "Tadlow magic" giving it new life. Off to Santa Barbara this weekend and am packing my "Quo Vadis" for the trip. Can't get enough of that one.
I like the updates too, but there is no reason why they couldn't continue to happen in the same thread. That way we'd have one S&G thread that would be well on its way to a "flame" post (over 100 replies) rather than a bunch of bitty little threads that are very redundant. It's not like it's years later or anything. These have all been made in the past year.
I agree that Blood on the Sun probably shares the spot with Sinbad as the released Rozsa score with the most need of a re-recording. But as a Rozsa completist I guess I'd be even more excited if future re-recordings chose to tackle otherwise completely-unavailable stuff. Knight Without Armour, anyone?
Mr Fitzpatrick, I am in a hurry to hear your recording of Sodom And Gomorrah, assuming that it will be the equal of your El Cid and Quo Vadis albums (I hope!)... without forgetting The private life of Sherlock Holmes.
And, speaking of your realizations with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, I'll be exited to hear live tracks of these marvellous Rozsa pieces of music next September, attending your "Epic Hollywood" concert in Prague. A premiere for me, as Rozsa's music is practically never played in France - except his violin concerto, perheaps. I shall come from Paris on this occasion for 3 or 4 days. Besides the concert, I'm sure this city deserves (at least) that.
Back in the mid-1960's, there was a TV syndication package of sword-and-sandal films. The package was called "Spectacolor Theater," and the weekly theme music for that logo was "The March of the Helamites" from the SODOM AND GOMORRAH score.
