Quartet releases are the best for me economically, so even in these tight times I might be able to slip a few in without the family noticing.

Hi, Graham.

Saimel is also in Spain. Would it be also economical for you to get their albums as well?
(providing that your spouse is not ready to bludgeon you over spending money) smile

If not, Quartet has a 1978 horror movie scored by Carlo Savina in their pre-order process that you might check out.

Thanks (Member)! That particular effect kind of puts me in mind of Michael Small's "dentist drill" screech in MARATHON MAN.

No more comments on the CD as a whole? Quartet releases are the best for me economically, so even in these tight times I might be able to slip a few in without the family noticing.

Man on a Swing is a first-rate dramatical score filled with modernist devices—these experimental tracks are a rework of the 1971 television score The Miracle (a season 6 score from Mission: Impossible) which shares the same trance-like music.

Trance-like tracks to listen to carefully (waterphone and buzzing organ galore):
• "Will's Trance"
• "Choked Up"
• "Dialatone/Empty Porch/Mailman/Phone Voice/A Wet Nothing"
• "Penultima Trance"
• "Will's Last Trance"
• "End Credits"

The liner notes by Jeff Bond are eloquent and he describes the instruments used by Schifrin from waterphone to organ and synthesizer. I got my copy on Friday and I am very enthusiastic about the music.

Zardoz - Yes, the Saimel releases turn out very cheap for me, but I haven't got any yet. As I hinted at on another thread, I've been going through a low-purchase phase for a while (probably about the last ten years). Price was never a huge issue for me anyway. At my slow rate of buying, I can always get really whatever I feel like three of four times a year - it's usually about 70 or 80 Euros the batch (which could be six Saimels or two Intradas), so I'm not a big spender. Quality rather than quantity.

Member, I think I'll have to start my 2015 batch with the Schifrin and a couple of other things that have been on my wants list for decades. I always really wanted THE PRESIDENT'S ANALYST anyway, but it looks like MAN ON A SWING might be the one that really sways me - appropriately. I remember the waterphone effects from having seen it once on TV ages ago.

I had this yesterday in the mail, thanks to Quartet for another outstanding release! smile

It's nice to see that they give Lukas the opportunity to still produce these wonderful albums. And this is proof of how good a source like the music stem can be for putting a score out on disc!

Got this today and for some reason an extra booklet was included. There didn't seem to be much wrong with the booklet in the CD case, but ... whatever. The ANALYST stems sound better than I thought they would.

My copy came with an extra booklet, too.

I am happy to finally have Schifrin's music for The President’s Analyst but dismayed by the pseudo-stereo reverb that has been added.

I heard from Jeff at Intrada about the extra booklet in my shipment.

There is apparently a problem with the regular booklets being torn at the pressing plant so they wanted to include replacement booklets with their shipments.

Mine was untorn, so I have two good booklets.

This is one of those sad releases where the score that really the more interesting simply hasn't been preserved as it should have. Damn those at Paramount who simply couldn't have cared less.

I found the music for MAN ON A SWING, a film I haven't seen in over thirty years, to be a slog to get through.

I found an extra booklet for this CD today and didn't know why one was sent. Both seem exactly the same. Now 3 years later, thanks to this thread I know why!
