The Passion Of The Christ continues to look mighty bizarre on his filmography. On anyone's filmography! Yeah, but he made more money off that title than probably 75% of those other titles combined! MV

Yeah, but he made more money off that title than probably 75% of those other titles combined! Nah. Iron Man 2 outperformed POTC, and Bruce Almighty made 80% as much as POTC. Liar Liar, Elf and Spongebob are hardly box-office slouches. And at least half of his movies made at least ~50million worldwide. True, but Passion of the Christ sold a LOT of albums, has a huge [non-film score fan] following, has been performed live for the Vatican in concert, etc. It's as close as a score that isn't TITANIC or JAMES BOND or STAR WARS has had, really, to a big mainstream following... ... And yet, it ain't got nothin' on DREAM HOUSE's finest moments!

Sorry about my thread, chaps. I tried searching and have no idea why I couln't find this one. Anyhow, I hope this gets more attention, as this is easily one of his most enthustiastic, exciting works. I love how seriously the score takes itself in the film, with even the more lighthearted moments not detracting from that sincerity. With the opening especially, you'd have no idea this was from Spongebob if you weren't informed, and of course, that's why it's perfect.

Your post gives me some hope that this isn't generic, mickey-mousey Debney but something more along the lines of his wonderful score to Paulie? I'm sure that CutThroat Island moments are probably too much to hope for... Yavar

There's indeed some Mickey-Mousing here and there, but I didn't mind...though it probably helps in my case that I've seen the movie four times, so the movie pretty much plays in my head during those bits. Why yes, I am insane, why do you ask? If I had to describe the score on the whole, it's like if Cutthroat Island was a children's film. The action cues especially are wonderful.
