I'm currently on a roll with Chris and I bought the CINEMA SEPTET box. I keep a very detailed list of every score I have in my possession. Of said box, I cannot find any info about SPARKLE ROAD or THE MINSTREL'S SONG. Those titles are not listed in imdb and google doesn't help and the booklet doesn't offer any info. Can anyone tell me where these track are from, what they were composed for, whatever?

I've wondered about this myself and I'm not sure Intrada even knows judging by the booklet liner notes. I'm not that big a fan of "minstrel's song" but "Sparkle road" is fun.

See if you can contact him through his website, I think he's one of those composers that seems to take the time to communicate with his fans.

It's easy enough for his agent to forward an email to him, and then up to him if he responds.

If I remember correctly Sparkle Road is his unused score to Jersey Girl.

A review of Cinema Septet by Lukas in the July 1993 issue of FSM (p. 13) seconds this notion, and identifies "The Minstrel's Song" as "a short film Young did very early in his career."

Listening to this old thing again. Is it just me, or is this album mixed really low (I have to turn the volume all the way up)?
