I preordered on Amazon, and am very excited about this. Not the biggest Goldsmith fan, so I'm happy to see BSX's interpretation albums hitting something more in my wheelhouse smile Great, diverse track listing too.

And welcomed, I might add.

I will surely buy it but I don't understand why they have Tango and Fiddler on the roof. They are not Williams pieces. There are so many other wonderful themes they could arrange and record.

Indeed they are not, but they are associated with his work (they're probably using Williams' arrangements) -- and they're famous -- so I guess they included them, seeing as these BSX releases are mostly aimed at a wider market.

Very few of these BSX re-recordings have been good, IMO (except an electronic score or two), but I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt and a chance.

Same stuff over and over, what does Goldsmith have to do with this release?

ANSWER: They are his arrangements (He did Win an Oscar for his work on FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) and both the performers liked the pieces and thought we should include them, we agreed.

Does that answer your question.

No real surprise, everyone who worked on the album loved that score.

It's a pretty cool recording IMHO.

Ford,

Will this be available digitally at places like Amazon MP3, iTunes, Spotify, etc, before the April 7th CD release date, or does everything drop the same day?

Very exciting that you got Washburn on board. I assume he's playing on Monsignor and JFK, anything else?

BSX released at least two Goldsmith albums in a similar fashion over the past year or two. Each time one was released, I was hoping for one from somebody whose music I cared for more - so I'm happy to see this release. Just a matter of personal taste, wasn't trying to stir anything up. I'm happy for Goldsmith fans that they got those releases, and I hope they supported BSX and purchased them smile

I think the only real 'also ran' on there is Schindler, and possibly Geisha. Very nice and varied list of pieces. Probably will have to get this...

You mean the score he won an oscar for and is one of his most popular scores?

that is a 'Also Ran?"

Some are Williams, but the rest are by Mr. Redfeld.
