Great stuff, especially if you're in Spain like me! David Lee's masterful MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH for 6.95? Goldsmith's STUDS LONIGAN at the same price? The wonderful Raksin's WHAT's THE MATTER WITH HELEN? for 4.95? I hope some of you take advantage of this generous sale. I would, but I bought 'em all when they first came out!

Anyone care to make some suggestions? I don't know most of these. I'm going to try Yellowbeard, but I'm willing to look at others. I'm tempted with AFTHOTWTTF.

It looks like Delirious is sold out, or at least not available... was it in low quantity already?

Ordered F/X 2 and Studs Lonigan, but for some reason I couldn't finish payment on the PC at home, and by the time I got to work and tried it there someone had gotten the last copy of the latter - but thankfully not the former, so I bagged that. smile

Anyone else having problems trying to place an order at Quartet's site? When I click the Place Order button the site doesn't take me to PayPal like it should, rather it just hangs there and either the Place Order button appears again or I get taken back to the shopping cart screen.

I sent an email 12 hours ago, awaiting respose...

I have the same problem. Sent an email to Luis Garcia at info@quartetrecords.com. His reply was:

"Sorry to hear this. Seems an internal problem with some albums, we are working to fix this. Now is almost tonight here, so this would be fixed tomorrow morning.
Please try again tomorrow, I will hold these albums for you, don't worry."

I'll try to order again tomorrow.

Picked up a few titles here - suddenly getting into the more dramatic side of Henry Mancini.

I've joined you, Peter, with the Stanley Black double score ... though I don't expect to be enthralled! I enjoyed the film Crossplot a few times as a teenager but last viewing some years ago left me in doubt that it was less than good. I recall reading that Roger Moore said he would not make another action/thriller unless there was sufficient budget ... I know nothing of the accompanying title.

As much as I enjoy Stanley Black's skills as an arranger/conductor and pianist (I have a few of his albums recorded 1956 - 62) I am less enamoured with him as a film-score composer. Perhaps this CD will help me to re-assess his works.

I thought about the Ennio Morricone title since the old release sounds rather muddy to me ... but I'm not that taken with this score amongst the hundreds of others of his I own. Another day I'd have bought it but my order was spread across other composers including a couple by Henry Mancini: I don't generally take to his later scores as much as I love his earlier ones but Fear - based on the re-recorded theme on his album Mancini in Surround sounds interesting - and Harry & Son was so cheap!

Add titles by Raksin and Addison, and a full-price one by Pascal Gaigne, and my efforts to cut-down on CD purchases this years seems to be holding up ... none-to-well (especially given the three titles due from Colosseum and another six from Dutton Vocalion). Oh well ...

Mitch

It's amazing how "Going OOP" information change prices at SAE!
If I remember correctly, both Yellowbeard & Grace Quigley were in "less than $9" category (1-2 months ago). Now they cost more than $35!
