Gotta love Hans asking if he could hug Desplat after Desplat won.

Yes Bravo Alexandre!

I had a feeling it was going to be your year!

You have done so much Marvelous work!

They usually say when you are up for two, you cancel yourself out.

Glad THEY were wrong!

Enjoy Maestro and Congratulations!

The right guy wins! Who cares if it's for the lesser one of his nominated scores?!

Congrats!

Dan

Wasn't able to see the broadcast.

Before they gave out Best Score, did the orchestra play a medley of the nominated scores, or did they poop on that idea like they sometimes and usually do?

Thanks,

Zoob

Sigh, I have to treasure this moment. The times over the decades a composer I truly care about has won this has been few and far between. It warms the cockles of my heart when it does. Congrats to Alexandre. May your work continue to expand and excel.

No medley. Only 10 seconds from each score as the nominees' names were read.

On the plus side, "Everything Is Awesome" got a giant production number.

I wonder who will win at the WSA this year. In all honesty, I'm glad for him as aside from his scores, he is the hardest working composer in Hollywood and I doubt it's the last we'll see of him. Perhaps he'll win year after year as well at the oscars!

Disappointed to hear this, as GBH was the one item on that list that I hoped wouldn't win (I don't like the film, the score, the director OR the composer!). While I had a feeling my favourite INTERSTELLAR wouldn't be able to pull if off, I had at the very least hoped for the wonderful THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING (which is more in "Oscar category").

So while many of you cheer for this moment, I think it's the most disappointing since Dudley's THE FULL MONTY won in the 90s.

I also think the "winner" of the awards, BIRDMAN, is hugely overrated.

This really wasn't the year for me. I feel like I was at odds with most everyone else.

They got it right.
I was disappointed, when Desplat lost his nomination for Fantastic Mr. Fox. I'm glad he was finally awarded for another Wes Anderson film.

A well-deserved award to a brilliant and smart composer.

The man composed the best score of the year (Godzilla).
Plus, the score he won for was the best of the five nominated.
A win very well deserved!

Don't worry, Thor. That Desplat bloke will fall off the map as quickly as Anne Dudley did. Unlike people such as Jerry Goldsmith and Alex North, or director Alfred Hitchcock, who all got so many Oscars that they went on to become quite popular with the cinema-going public.
