Can you good folks be so kind as to recommend me some Italian Erotica scores.

(I did a Google search, and couldn't find a previous topic on this board)

I have several of Morricone's erotica scores that I really like, primarily the sexy, seductive kind of thing (especially with a moaning woman sound).

Apart from Morricone, my only familiarity with other Italian film scores are Spaghetti Westerns.

So I'd be grateful for any other Erotica recommendations that are NOT by Morricone, to find out if I'm missing out on anything else worth having.

I'm not really after "romantic" scores, just ones that are sexy, seductive, orgasmic, if you could consider this differentiation in your recommendations.

Pretty much every Italian composer was doing a few of these every year throughout the 60s and 70s, so there are probably hundreds of scores that would match what you're looking for. Off the top of my head, you should check out Piero Piccioni's "Scacco alla regina" :

A few years ago I picked up "Erotica Morricone". I'm don't know if it's still available.

Can't make specific recommendations but maybe this will help.

Here's one Carlo Savina soundtrack that I think doesn't receive much attention because there's no sound samples of NEL BUIO DEL TERRORE at SAE:

You might wish to search online using the name Edda Dell'Orso (the female vocalist who is the most prominent diva to provide these types of vocal effects).

I 2nd the recommendation for Piero Piccioni's SCACCO ALLA REGINA. Also search for titles by Piero Umiliani as well as those by Piero Piccioni.

You might also be interested in some of the more adventursome/experimental vocalise, too.
Sample Giorgio Gaslini's LE SORELLE, for example.

[personally, I love the Piccioni songs sung by Shawn Robinson in a few of Piccioni's 1971 gialli, such as LA VOLPE DALLA CODA DI VELLUTO.]

You can't go wrong with any of the recommendations so far!

Consider adding these to your list:

Available on CD:

Stelvio Cipriani
•Orgasmo Nero
•Papaya Dei Caraibi

Although I hesitate to recommend Out-of-print CDs, these are available on iTunes, and worth downloading if you don't want to seek out the $$$$ OOP discs:

Piero Umiliani composed a trio of Erotica scores (highly recommended, especially for Edda del’Orso’s sexy vocals on all three)
• Il Corpo
•La Ragazza Fuori Strada (may be able to find this on CD for a decent price as it looks like a few retailers may still have copies available. Search it out!)
•La Ragazza Dalla Pelle di Luna

And finally….

The classic, the best of all, and truly a must-have in any format:

Piero Piccioni
•Camille 2000

All of the above are steamy, sexy, and very Italian!
Enjoy!

Nico Fidenco

In my book, Nico Fidenco has indeed written the best erotic scores.

You MUST check out his magnum opus, the Black Emanuelle series (six magnificent scores in only three (3!) years):

These CDs are still available and you can even buy them in one box with the DVD containing the documentary 'Music for the Black Queen'. Other available erotic scores of his that are definitely worth exploring:

Also, be sure to check out Bruno Nicolai's arguably best score:

Nicolai's other scores for Jess Franco are also wonderful, but maybe less 'sexy' in the way you described it in your original post.

This rather unknown title by Daniele Patucchi features some excellent, original Dell'Orso singing:

Unfortunately, the following great scores (especially Laure!) are OOP, but with some patience I managed to pick them up on the secondary market last year:

I love it when we can look at pictures of naked women when legitimitely researching our innocent nerdy hobby.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I'll check out Bruno Nicolai's "Eugenie de Sade 70".

I'm a bit surprise there's not more interest in this thread. Although I'm unfamiliar with the genre, I expected there to be a lot more films and suggestions than there have been.

Is this genre of music not very popular on this board?

Or is most of the music a bit cheesy or rubbish?

Don't many people here own Italian erotica scores?

How else do you get the missus in the mood? big grin

Emmanuelle Goodbye (LP)- Serge Gainsbourg
Valerie and Her Week Of Wonders
3 In The Attic- Chad Steward
99 Women- Bruno Nicolai
Al Cinema Con... Edda Dell'Orso
Angel
Bilitis- Francis Lai
Butterfly
Dressed To Kill (Expanded)- Pino Donaggio
Girl on a Motorcycle- Les Reed
Il Corpo- Piero Umiliani
Interrabang- Berto Pisano
La Preda- Vince Tempera, Franco Bixio
La Ragazza Dalla Pelle di Luna- Piero Umiliani
La Ragazza Fuori Strada- Piero Umiliani
Laura-Patrick Juvet (1979)
Nana (1982)- Ennio Morricone
Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak

A new release by GDM of Riz Ortolani's L’UOMO CHE GUARDA (The Voyer) First time published? Excellent work from Maestro Ortolani. 12 page booklet! Be careful with that, you may have nightmares. The lead actress is a famous super model?

Samples are up at SAE.

By the description you could think this a complex and intricate plot, as erotica tends to be. Hard to follow.

Certainly not in this household! smile I'm most fortunate in that my wife enjoys most of my music collection with country & western, opera ... specifically sopranos ... and orgiastic interpretations being notable exceptions! We can add some of the vocalists, such as Tony Bennett, to that list. Oh well ...

Anyhow, yes, I have a few such titles in my collection and avoiding the Ennio Morricone soundtracks (probably more than all other composers aggregated), I would highlight:

Femmine Insaziabili (The Insatiables) (1969) - Bruno Nicolai ... somewhat more enjoyable than the 2CD Eugenie - De Sade '70 mentioned above, IMHO
Una Vergine Tra I Morti Viventi (A Virgin Among the Living Dead) (1973) - Bruno Nicolai ... such a weird mix of styles!
but each are surpassed, easily, by:
Le Monache di Sant'Arcangelo (The Nun and the Devil) (1973) and its companion (sequel?) score Storia di una Monaca di Clausura (Story of a Cloistered Nun) (1973) - Piero Piccioni

I can't believe the films could have been good enough to warrant such musical works.

All of my film music falls in the genre Soundtrack ... I suppose a task one day (more likely: one year) is to break this heading down into sub-headings ... I'm sure there are more titles I should recommend. smile
