So if it comes out, don't buy it. Don't spoil it for the rest of us.

Since analysis complete scores seems to be going round at the moment, I thought I'd re-post this and remind everyone that only HALF the cues in the film are currently on disc. And there are other problems to fix from the previous Sony edition—not just that about 30 minutes of music remains unreleased. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8x1t8htigp9sftm/Dances%20With%20Wolves%20Cue%20List.pdf?dl=0 Cheers Oh, i didn't know that even the expanded was missing so much music! Thanks! So, yes, i would be interested in a complete score too!

The PDF is certainly very interesting (and I notice that there are -- fortunately -- some people on this planet who are able to devote much more time to the issue at hand than I could), and I would sample cues from a complete DANCES WITH WOLVES release to hear if there's anything of substance not on the available discs. In the meantime, I am more excited over INDECENT PROPOSAL, a John Barry score I do not own any copy of.

I was raked over the coals for not recognizing it's thematic diversity. I was told there are 9 or more distinct themes in the score. There are buddy. Yavar

If you want to assess whether a complete DWW is for you, and you can spare 20 minutes, all you have to do is get the movie and watch the 20 minutes between 00:40 and 01:00 and you'll get a pretty good idea about what kind of additional music there is. Cheers

Cheers Oh Stephen you make it sound so easy. The movie has only been out for 25 years, how do you expect people to find that kind of time at such short notice! A quote from Richard Kraft by way of Jon Burlingame: "Jerry Goldsmith once told me that if he was ever making a movie, the composer he would choose to score it would be John Barry — because no one else was better at creating music that best captured the heart of a film."

Cheers Thanks, I actually do have the Blur-ray, which contains both the Director's and the theatrical cut of the movie. I have not seen the movie since the 1990s, but will do so again one day.

I have read at least on two different occasions Jerry Goldsmith lauding Barry's music for MIDNIGHT COWBOY.
