We went to AMERICAN SNIPER, and both my husband and I thought it was an amazing, beautifully directed and acted movie. IMHO, it is one of Eastwood’s best movies. Bradley Cooper is superb.

IMDB does not list a composer. I did hear a few notes of music here and there, just a few. Since I was intensely involved in the movie, I may have missed some music. I assumed those few notes were by Eastwood, but he’s not listed. (Due to an appointment, we couldn’t sit through the entire end credits.)

My question is this. At the end, during the live footage of the “procession,” there is a beautiful piece of music played. I’m sure I should know it but I can’t name it. Can someone here help with its title?

This is odd because I typed into the search engine "American Sniper" and I did not get Morricone's URL showing up or I would have added to that topic. Also, I just played the "Un Monumento" cue that Henry/Morricone listed, and it doesn't ring any bells with me as being the one used in the movie. Am I deaf?

Thanks Lokutus.

Still don't hear Un Monumento at the end of American Sniper. I did find the procession and music on Youtube; see above. It says it is from The Funeral by Ennio Morricone. Is that the title of a track in a particular movie? Maybe the title is in Italian.

Lokutus, you are such a wealth of knowledge. Yes, that is the piece. Certainly Eastwood is more than familiar with Morricone's music. Wish Eastwood had used Morricone to score some of his other pictures. Thanks again.

I just seen this on BD and Joseph S. DeBeasi (I think I managed to spell his name correct) is credited to have composed additional music. Since there are not a lot of music in it. Except for Clint`s "Taya`s Theme" and the Ennio Morricone piece at the end of the movie. I guess the rest may be Mr. DeBeasi`s compositions? Anyway I wonder if anyone here know (roughly) of many minutes of music that Mr. DeBeasi contributed? Also I wonder how it comes that Clint and company hired him?
