Got an email today saying the CD release date has been pushed to ~30 Nov. They will cancel and refund orders if people wish.

I got the same email. I think it's the price we pay for living in the dying days of physical media. I'm just glad to see there's a CD at all for such an obscure score.

Is this CD packaged in a jewel box (as opposed to a digipak)?

I'd never heard of this film, or score, until I was shopping in a Bargain CD/DVD shop in Liverpool Town Centre, and discovered this release (they had a copy of it for £3/brand new).
I'll generally gamble on ANY name composer, if it costs a few buttons and I've never heard it before.
And since Birth wink most every thing I've heard by Desplat holds some musical interest to me, even if I don't particularly fall for it in the end.
I've picked up quite a few 'bargain Desplat titles' from this shop in the past (for £1/£2/£3) including UNBROKEN, PAINTED VEIL, AMERICAN PASTORAL & GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL.
The album cover/artwork gives one an idea of how the music might sound (bleak/desolate/lonely) with its moody stares and snowy landscapes and the music carries that air of tragic Herrmann* within it most times.
It's doubtful ANY THING will be fine, if the music is anything to go by!
This one joins THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS, AFTERWARDS and THE DANISH GIRL in that 'mood piece effectiveness' category, when you need the music to be just the safe side of hopeless and lost.
He's quite good, this fella (Desplat). I think he'll go far smile

*some of the high strings moments really do recall WALKING DISTANCE (TZ) by BH.
