Michael Small's oft-requested musical support for fourth Jaws installment finally makes premiere release! Entire score appears in dynamic stereo from original session mixes, courtesy Universal. Small makes use of famous John Williams shark motif but surrounds with considerable original material of his own. As Ellen Brody becomes convinced shark is on vendetta to wipe out her remaining family members, she fights back with vengeance of her own. Composer Small fights for survival right alongside her. Action abounds! Another asset: Bahamas setting provides rich new environment for composer - and shark - to play in. Significant post-production editing of film relegated sections of score to cutting room floor. Intrada now presents every sequence as Small intended, including the segments edited out of finished production. Alternates also appear as "extras". When composer has his say, he wraps final credits with superb rendition of Williams complete "Jaws" theme then offers brief final coda of his own. Exciting music! Michael Small conducts. Intrada Special Collection CD available while quantities and interest remain!

One of my most-wanted! So excited! Michael Small did a fantastic job with this score. The fact that something as emotional as "Ellen Goes Out to Sea" was written for this film speaks volumes about his talent. Ordered!
Bravo intrada! Another favorite and excited to get to hear the complete score as intended by Small. His interpretation and orchestration of the Jaws theme is the version I favor most and I love that added motif and frantic violin. Such energy and excitement coming from this score, I wish the movie was half as good.
Pleasantly surprised with the lenth of the score 47" (almost 20 more than the promo), even being aware that lot of the tracks were missing from the promo I had no idea it was that much.
Can't wait to hear some of the tracks I missed the most (Don't Tell Mother and Michael At Mirror which are variations of the Ellen Goes Out To Sea theme)
Curious to see what music is included in "Runaway Bay" (?)
I've noticed a small typo in track 9. The name of the kid in the film is Thea instead of Leah, probably it was a mistake existing in the original track titles (of course there's no reason to ask for a reprint for that!)
To me, this has always been one of the better Williams follow-ups by a non-Williams composer ... like SUPERMAN IV and JURASSIC PARK III. I highly recommend it.
I've only just recently started collecting and appreciating Michael Small's scores so I'm really looking forward to this. Think I'll pass on rewatching the film though.
This was an instant buy for me, and I'm hoping that the other Jaws movies are not far behind Although I thought I'd point out that there might be a misprint on track 9, I think it should be "Ellen Plays With Thea" not "Ellen Plays With Leah".
Sounds pretty repetitive and doesn't appear to embark into any new territory musically speaking. This is a rare case where I'll probably get it to fill a "collection void" owning the first three. Happy it was released for those whom consider it a holy grail.
I mentioned this in the RIVER WILD thread, but I'll say again (until someone validates me, goddammit) that I'm happy Intrada's using the key art font for its ISC spines now.
