The search engine is all messed up, I know there is another thread on this somewhere but I couldn't find it.

Here is a clip featuring Silvestri's unused score. I personally love it. Check it out. More to come soon!

Let me know if you experience any issues viewing it. Thanks!

That's about as well-scored as any action sequence I can think of, even if it was ultimately rejected. Thanks for sharing!

Very cool, nice work. There is a little too much of the theme at the start of that clip but once they get into the tunnel the score is exciting.

Glad you dig it. I cannot get enough of that dual horn motif! I'll post more clips soon.

Quite frankly I think both scores are just "ok".
Here's another score comparison video link:

A Jerry Goldsmith score would have blown them all off the train in my not so humble opinion smile

They screwed up the timing of the Silvestri cue in that video.

I really don't get why it's ok for that video to be on YouTube but not mine. Wtf?

This reminds me a lot of his score for Eraser, which is not a bad thing big grin

I saw this back when you did it the first time, and it still holds up. Elfman's score as a whole is so much better, but I do love this Silvestri cue. The horns at the zoom-up of the hook onto the train is the best.

Well he specifically took some of the music from MI and reused it in Eraser, so...

It is my understanding that Silvestri reused elements of this score in ERASER.

(this refers to a running gag in the previous M:I thread linked to above).

Lol. Don't get me started on that...

I love Silvestri's music here and it makes the otherwise really phony looking sequence a lot more exciting than I felt Elfman was able to. I never felt Elfman was a good fit for the movie, but I'm in the minority.

Love that cue. I think the Silvesti track works better in this scene than Elfman's replacement score.

Am I the only one who thinks the theme sounds somwhat similar to Williams' love theme from Attack of the Clones?

It sounds like Nixon! With electric guitars...

I've heard that comparison a few times before in the comments section.

No, I must admit that I don't hear the resemblance.

Alan Silvestri on autopilot.

Autopilot? A few years into the 2000s and I'd agree. This has all kinds of interesting stuff going on, despite the guitars.
